Source
STACK token holders source promising crypto projects. These projects can apply for consideration through the application portal and are upvoted by STACK token holders.

Invest
Once a project receives positive off-chain validation from the STACK community, a deal lead from the DAO will begin discussing investment terms with the project. These discussions will culminate in an investment proposal that will be voted upon by the STACK community.

Accelerate
The Stacker Ventures community will work to support projects that receive investment capital. This will occur formally through the Community Accelerator initiatives developed together with portfolio projects, and informally, by generating buzz and excitement outside of the community. This support will continue past the official end date of the fund. Our goal is to partner with portfolio projects for the long-term.

Distribution
Fund 1 dissolves after one year. This relatively short timespan was chosen for this initial fund due to:
1) the lightning-fast pace of the cryptocurrency industry, and
2) the unique nature of our sustainable partnerships with portfolio companies.

The DAO’s goal is not to purchase discount tokens to dump on retail investors, but rather to establish lasting partnerships and quickly get tokens into the hands of individuals who are likely to be long-term supporters and potentially even users of exciting new projects. With that being said, in the event of significant returns within the fund’s life, the community may vote to exit a portion of an investment.

After one year, a claim function will activate, allowing ownership tokens to be exchanged for digital asset investments and any remaining capital.

Safeguards

・All contributed capital will be managed by fund investors and the Stacker Ventures DAO

・Capital controls have been instituted to limit the deployment of capital over time, with the option for investors to veto decisions

・An emergency mechanism is included in the smart contract that can be triggered by a majority stake of fund owners resulting in immediate dissolution of the fund

Stacker Ventures is a community-run protocol for initiating and managing pooled capital. Structured as a DAO, Stacker Ventures initiates decentralized funds, accelerates venture fund portfolio investments through an involved community, and provides checks and balances to fund management.
